The High Commission for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is preparing for its second Annual Vincentian Business Excellence Awards following the success of last year’s event. This year’s ceremony which is based on the theme ‘Think SVG’ will take place at the Charing Cross Hotel in Central London on 20 November 2013 and will showcase the best of responsible and successful Vincentian businesses here in the UK.
Four major awards would be presented during this gala event. The categories are: Government of Saint Vincent & the Grenadines Award 2013; Bank of SVG National Award for Business 2013; Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 and Business Man of the Year 2013. At least two special awards will also be given.Recipients would have demonstrated that they are the most influential, responsible, business oriented and accomplished businesses or individuals.
His Excellency Mr Cenio Lewis, High Commissioner, The High Commission for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines said, “We value the hard work and dedication that our deserving Vincentian diaspora are putting into their businesses and communities here in the UK; and also the contributions they are giving back to homeland St.Vincent & the Grenadines”.
The lead organizer of this event - Minister Counsellor Mrs. Doris Charles continues to shower praise on the Organising Committee that continue to volunteer their efforts well beyond the call of duty. The Organising Committee is made up of Mr. Steve Maingot, Mrs. Ann - Marie Brooks, Mrs. Carolin de Freitas-Sawh; Mr. Dudrey Browne; Mr. Ozzie Frank; Mr.Simeon Williams as Adviser to the Committee and Mrs. Doris Charles. With just about one month to go last minute preparations moved into high gear. The High Commissioner H. E. Cenio Lewis continues to support this initiative and urges that our nationals be encouraged to participate.

The evening’s programme will commence with a drinks reception, followed by a formal dinner and the presentation of the Awards.
The Awards for Excellence 2013 are being positioned as the primary means by which businesses in the Vincentian Diaspora would continue to identify, celebrate and disseminate good business practices and communicate the positive impact they are having on their respective communities. By extension, with the coming on stream of the International Airport, it is the aim that co-operative ventures and strategic business alliances will be forged with the Diaspora and the home country – St.Vincent & the Grenadines.
